Installation has been completed and a new traffic signal on the west side of Ring Road will be activated this week.
When initially switched on today or Wednesday, the light will be activated simply in “flash mode” to alert motorists to it, Transportation Cabinet spokesman Chris Jessie said in a statement.
Motorists should expect the stoplight to become fully active on or about Dec. 19, Jessie said.
The signal is at Ring Road’s intersection with West Park Road, which provides the primary access to Elizabethtown Sports Park.
