New traffic signal on Ring Road going active today

The state plans to activate a new traffic signal at the intersection of Ring Road and West Park Road today.

Chris Jessie, public information officer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 office in Elizabethtown, said the signal has been flashing at caution but will be fully functional as of today. Jessie said the state has had message boards up for the past two weeks alerting motorists to the start date.

The cabinet will keep the message boards up for a few more weeks as a safety precaution, Jessie said.
