North's Bevars becomes winningest coach in Kentucky high school basketball

North Hardin’s Ron Bevars stands alone.

North’s 53-35 victory over Marion County on Friday night at Ron Bevars Gymnasium gave Bevars win No. 768, surpassing former Clay County coach Bobby Keith to become the winningest coach in the state, according to the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.

Bevars tied Keith when his Trojans topped Adair County on Jan. 31, but North Hardin dropped back-to-back games. Bevars was relieved to finally get a win and break the record.
