Kathleen Allen
Kathleen Allen, 91, of Glasgow, formerly of Linwood, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Knoxes Creek Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Edward Shipp and the late Esther Puckett Shipp, and the wife of the late Willard Maurice Allen.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Carroll (James) of Linwood, and Beverly Smith (Bob) of Clarksville, Tenn.; one sister, Ruth Milby (Kenneth) of Magnolia; two grandchildren, Brittany Whitmer (Charles) of Buffalo, and Jonathan Jones of Clarksville; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Whitmer.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday at Brooks Funeral Home, with Brothers Phillip Trent and Bobby Neal officiating. Interment is in Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Harley Eugene Beard
Harley Eugene Beard, 73, of Radcliff, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville.
1st Sgt. Beard retired from the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of Vietnam and received a Bronze Star medal, multiple Purple Hearts, and numerous other awards and commendations. After his military career he retired from the commissary at White Sands Missile Range.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Beard of Radcliff; two sons, David (Mary) Beard of Greenville and Daniel Beard of Radcliff; two daughters, Debra Beard of Cincinnati and Jeannie (Matthew) Lamb of Frisco, Texas; three grandsons; two granddaughters; one brother; and one sister.
A committal service with military honors is at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Allene Cox
Allene Cox, 97, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in Greensburg.  
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Netherland of Campbellsville and Charlotte Henderson and her husband, Lloyd Jr. of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren,  Terry Netherland, Edwina Pennington and Mechonda O’Brien and her husband, Hugh, all of Elizabethtown; a granddaughter-in-law, Bonnie Netherland of Campbellsville; six great-grandchildren, Katie Netherland of Campbellsville, Emilee O’Brien, Ashlee O’Brien, Adam Pennington and Aaron Pennington, all of Elizabethtown and Zachery Pennington of Louisville; one great-great-grandson, Jean-Luc Pennington of Elizabethtown; a sister, Rachel Mills of Greensburg; and a sister-in-law, Bernita Rogers of Greensburg.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, John D. Netherland on April 22, 2010; and one grandson, Steve Netherland on Sept. 10, 2009.
The funeral is at 4 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family requests visitation after 7 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Arlene F. Fried
Arlene F. Fried, 71, of Lebanon Junction, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth W. Fried, her daughter, Karen Jackson, and her father, Elmer Bryant.
The funeral is at 7 p.m. today at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction. Cremation will follow.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

 Ira Goodman Jr.
Ira Goodman Jr., 78, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Howevalley. He was of Christian faith, a Korean War Veteran and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Gertrude (Peters) Goodman Sr.; a sister, Daisy May; and three brothers, Barney, Hulet and Raymond Goodman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Yvonne (Daugherty) Goodman of Elizabethtown; two sons, Pat (Donna) Goodman of Elizabethtown, and Jeff (Carrie) Goodman of Lebanon Junction; four daughters, Peggy Moore of Cecilia, Teresa (Steve) Sebastian of Millwood and Glenda (Ricky) Goodman  and Karen (Kenny) Goodman, all of Cecilia; six stepsons, Greg Milburn of Custer, Tim (Betty) Milburn of Mc Daniels, Steve (Tammy) Milburn of Webster, Bryan Milburn of Louisville, Larry Milburn of Dry Ridge and Mike Milburn of Hopkinsville; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of loving family members and friends.  
The funeral is at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Elbert Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Howevalley Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation continues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mildred J. Green
Mildred J. Green, 59, of Horse Cave, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at University Hospital in  Louisville.
Survivors include her parents, Winford Faulkner and Mayme Rice Faulkner, and four children, Trevent Green, Rondell Green, Shanita Green and Levise Rice.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodsonville Baptist Church. Interment will be in Woodsonville Memorial Gardens in Munfordville.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Brooks Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodsonville Baptist Church.


Danny Dewayne Houston
Danny Dewayne Houston, 57, of Rineyville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at his residence.
He was a native of Wartrace, Tenn., a U.S. Army veteran and was a Sara Lee routeman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille Helton Houston.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Debbie Mayo Houston; a stepson, Shawn Saltmarsh and his wife, Evelyn, and grandson Seth Saltmarsh of Rineyville; one son, Daniel Houston of Wartrace, Tenn., one daughter, Cassandra Burkhart of Denver; two sisters, Linda Elkins of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Debbie Brown of Wartrace, Tenn.; and Priscilla Mayo of Tilton, N.H., George and Mary Ellen Duncan of Franklin, N.H., Maurice and Joyce Mayo of Gaffney, S.C., and Bruce and Dawn Mayo of Palmetto, Fla..
There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home.

Herbert Ruble Robinson
Herbert Ruble Robinson, 83, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation in Radcliff.
He was a native of Wheeling, W.V. and a member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge No. 76 F & AM.  He retired from the U.S. Army and worked at Interstate Auto for 12 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. and Sarah M. Shaw Robinson and twelve brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Robinson; two sons, David Allen (Betsy) Robinson of Smithfield, Pa. and Rocky Paul Robinson and Ronald of Louisville; a sister, Herlene Myers; and a granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Stitchick of Uniontown, Pa.
There will be no services.

Joseph Edward ‘Pete’ Ruley
Joseph Edward “Pete” Ruley, 79, of Loretto, died at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at his residence.
Born Sept. 23, 1931, in St. Francis, Mr. Ruley was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked 35 years at General Electric in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Eugean Ruley; two sons, Joseph Mark “Willabie” Ruley, and infant Robert Michael Ruley; his parents, Edward E. and Cora Elizabeth Kelty Ruley; one infant sister; and twobrothers, Robert Stuart “Cokie” Ruley and Charles Donald “Donnie” Ruley.
Survivors include his companion, Alicia Mattingly of Loretto; three daughters, Melodee Ruley of Elizabethtown, Lee Ann and Carla Ruley, both of Lebanon; two sons, Marshall Ruley of Loretto, Greg Ruley of Pikeville;    nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty O’Flynn of Louisville, and Linda Walls and Phyllis Williams, both of Mount Washington; six brothers, Carl Ruley of Bardstown, Raphael Ruley of Louisville, Wayne Cecil of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Larry, Dean and Marvin Cecil, all of Dant Station; and his faithful dog, Gilligan.
 The funeral mass is at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis, with the Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto. A vigil will be at 5:30 p.m. today.
Pallbearers are Michael Ruley, Shain Ruley, David Edelen, Brandon Ruley, Tyler Edelen and Adam Medley. Honorary pallbearer is Ben Ruley.

Charles Edwin Show
Charles Edwin Show, 73, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at his home.
He was a native of Confluence Township, Somerset County, Pa., and was owner and operator, along with his wife Janice, of Show’s Battery Sales Inc.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice O. Grimm Show; his parents, Christopher C. and Anna Reckner Show; and a brother, Elwood Show.
Survivors include a son, Michael C. Show, a grandson, Brent Thomas Show, and his long-time family friend, Shannon Willis, all of Louisville; two brothers, I. N. Show of Franklin Furnice, Ohio, and James (Jean) Show of Lisbon, Ohio; two sisters, Janet Coffman of Elizabethtown, and Betty (Vyrl) Henry of Markleton, Pa., and his canine companion, Pokie.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home, with Deacon Bob Markert officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lina Sue Thomas
Lina Sue Thomas, 68, of Cecilia, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at her residence in Cecilia.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Mayme (George) McGuffin; her husband, Charles A. Thomas; and a great-grandchild, Christopher Harney.
She is survived by four sons, Jeff (Judy) Thomas of Elizabethtown, Steven (Charlotte) Thomas of Cecilia, David (Debbie) Thomas of Rineyville, and Timmy (Teresa) Thomas of Elizabethtown; four brothers, Jessie McGuffin, Jackie (Elma) McGuffin and the Rev. Roger (Barbara) McGuffin, all of Elizabethtown, and Vernie (Jeanie) McGuffin of Cecilia; two sisters, Teresa (Danny) Helm of Magnolia and Diana (Greg) Williams of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Saturday, Nov. 13, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Revs. John Clark and Roger McGuffin officiating. Burial followed in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Manakee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
