REMINDERS. Today, Nov. 14, is the annual White Mills Community Thanksgiving Dinner at 12:30 p.m. in the White Mills Christian Camp dining room. Meats are furnished by the White Mills Civic League. Bring a vegetable, salad or dessert and enjoy the fellowship and give thanks for a caring community.
Next Sunday, Nov. 21, will be the community Thanksgiving service at White Mills Christian Church. Everyone is invited.
Nov. 28 will be the annual White Mills bridge lighting. There will be more details later about this holiday event.
BIRTHDAY WISH. Happy belated birthday to Renee Nannery.
GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes to David Knight, Evelyn Huff, Arnold Pence, Wayne Powell and all others who are ill.
Get-well wishes to Joann Cardin, who has had knee replacement. We were happy to hear that Wesley Cardin received a good report recently from his doctor.
CHURCH NEWS. At 7 p.m. Nov. 21, there will be a community service at Stephensburg Church of God.
OUT AND ABOUT. Freda Curtsinger and Etta Hicks enjoyed lunch last Sunday after church at Haymakers restaurant near White Mills.
EAGLE SCOUT. Congratulations to Dillon Miller, son of Cole and Sandra Miller of White Mills, on receiving his Eagle Scout award last Sunday in a ceremony at White Mills Christian Church.
SCHOOL NEWS. Muffins for Mom was held Nov. 4 and 5 at Lakewood Elementary School. A large crowd attended.
There was a KCCT Awards program at Lakewood last Tuesday in the gym for the students.
Lakewood will have a book fair from Nov. 15-19. The ABC-123 Night is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18.
VISITS. Ervin and Violet Stith’s visitors last weekend to celebrate her Nov. 7 birthday were Lisa, Ian, Brody and Darby McDonald; Angel Stith; Missy Fackler and children; Holly Swift and Nathaniel Swift and his friend, Faith; Danny Stith; and Greg and Christy Stith and Devin and Kennedy.
Violet received a call from her cousin, Mary Lee Brooks England of Grove, Okla., on her birthday. She and Martha Mullins went out to eat last Tuesday to celebrate her birthday. She appreciates the calls, cards and gifts she received.
SYMPATHY. Sympathy to the family of Shirley Jeanette Williams Robinson.
STILL OPEN. Cardin’s Flint Hill Store still is open for business and the phone number is the same. They have Christmas candy, molasses, local honey and peanuts in the shell.
