All that needs done is nothing
Ten years ago the political system enacted a law to lower taxes and raise expenses. The law carried an expiration date of the end of this year.
Without intervention the nation’s budget benefits from increased revenues and decreased expenses. Application of the net gain to current debt and deficit reduces the interest cost on public borrowings. Savings from lower interest costs offer a real opportunity to lower taxes. Every citizen becomes a beneficiary of a stronger dollar, less inflation and lower prices.
Perched on the edge of this fiscal precipice the Democrats have in hand a tax increase. The Republicans have in hand reduced expenditures. Both parties receive their wish by simply doing nothing. The country gains an initiative that leads to a good way of life for everyone.
Dismiss the hyperbole of promoters and fear mongers. Step over this rut in the road and make a move toward national solvency. All that needs done is nothing.
