It’s going to take all of us
On Nov. 15, Kenneth L. Randall wrote a letter to the editor telling President Barack Obama’s supporters not to expect “white flags” from conservatives. Well, I hope not. This is not the time to give up.
I have never heard of Mr. Randall, but I certainly wouldnot want him to crawl into a hole. It is going to take all of us, liberal and conservative alike, to solve the nation’s complicated problems.
The tax money to be appropriated came not just from conservative or liberal pockets. It came from the pockets of all races, religions and political persuasions; therefore, all ought to have a say in how it’s spent.
Need I remind anyone, we are a democracy and elected representatives have an obligation to each of us, supporters or not.
Is it any wonder bullying is such a horror among children? Look at the example being set by the voices and actions around them.
Just as goodness is its own reward, mean-spiritedness is its own punishment.
Together we face a steep climb and open hands are needed, not clenched fists.
