Pass safely on two-lane road

Almost three years ago my family moved to Rineyville. We truly love this area and the wonderful people here in the community. However, living in an area with two-lane roads has brought out a particularly negative character trait in our local drivers.

When leaving our home for work or shopping in Radcliff and Elizabethtown, of course we use Rineyville Road and Rineyville-Big Springs Road. I have lost track of the number of times I have been passed in no-passing zones on these roads. I am a safe driver, but seldom do I crawl along these roads inviting some one to pass me. If I were traveling much slower than the speed limit and these drivers were to pass me in a passing zone, I would have no reason to complain. However, that is rarely the case. I tend to stay near the speed limit, which causes me to become very irate at the speed demons who place my life in danger, as well as their own. If they were to meet another vehicle, they would likely take me out as well as the other car.

To all of you wannabe NASCAR drivers out there who have this overwhelming desire to go screaming past me in a no-passing zone, enjoy the one car advantage you achieved after risking both our lives and breaking the law! Please look in your rearview mirror when we are both stopped at the same light. I’ll be the one in the car behind you, shaking my head in disbelief at your ignorance.
