Discard emergency meal peanut butter
Federal and Kentucky officials are urging the public to throw away peanut butter packets found in emergency meals received at a distribution point or shelter. This is part of a precautionary national recall.
Some mass peanut butter products have been traced back to Peanut Corporation of America, where salmonella recently was found and tied to hundreds of illnesses and eight deaths.
At this time no one has been reported sick as a result of peanut butter in emergency meals.
