HODGENVILLE — The Chuck Wagon Gang will roll into town Friday night to perform at Lincoln Jamboree.

The group holds the distinction of being the oldest recording mixed gospel group still performing with ties to the original founding. It has a 72-year tradition of singing old gospel songs the old-time way.

Chuck Wagon Gang standards, classics and most-requested songs still are featured in today's concerts, including “The Church In The Wildwood,” “Echoes From the Burning Bush,” “I'll Fly Away,” “I'll Meet You in the Morning,” “Looking For a City,” “The Son Hath Made Me Free,” “A Beautiful Life” and others. The group also performs new songs and recordings.

The Chuck Wagon Gang often recreates an old 1940's Chuck Wagon Radio program during the second half of the show, even singing a commercial for Bewley Mills Flour Company, the sponsor for the radio program.

Friday's show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. Special pricing is available for groups of 20 or more. Call (270) 358-3545 for reservations.
