As I’m sure most everyone in our region knows, economically, we have been very fortunate the past six years to be the benefactors of tremendous growth at Fort Knox as a result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure initiative. Thousands of new soldiers, civilians and support jobs have been created and the resulting positive economic impact has been a great shared experience - and has been a bright spot for Kentucky’s economy.
