Optimist Club has installation banquet

The Optimist Club of Radcliff held its installation banquet to induct new officers for the 2012–13 Optimist year.

Newly installed officers were inducted by Howard Bittner, governor-designate for the Kentucky/West Virginia Optimist District. Judy Zeigler, governor for the Kentucky/West Virginia Optimist District presented outgoing president Mae Knight with an appreciation gift. Mayor J. J. Duvall also presented Mae Knight with a certificate of appreciation and presided over the gavel exchange ceremony, passing the gavel from current president Mae Knight to incoming president Jackie Banks.

Officers are President Jackie Banks; President-Elect Anthony Conder; Vice President Rudy Garcia; Secretary Denise Haynes; Treasurer Ed Cardiff; and Past President Mae Knight.

The Board of Directors includes Maria Batistoni, Neal Gibbs, Tonia Freeman, Pam Holcomb, Jessie Lee and Frances Lee.

Honored at the event for Optimist of the Year was Anthony Conder. A Pillar Award was given to Denise Haynes. Elite Awards were presented to Marvin Logsdon and Bernie Sears. Program Chair Awards were presented to Esta Pigg, Chris Yates and John Freeman. Special President’s Awards were given to Maria Batistoni, Jessie Lee, Neal Gibbs, Rudy Garcia, Len Casey, Ralph Reese, Willie Lee, Ed Cardiff, Buzz High and Anne Flanagan.
