A fire just before midnight Wednesday in Magnolia destroyed most of a two-story farm house on Hawkins Road.
Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Wolford said firefighters from his department as well the Hodgenville and Buffalo fire departments battled the blaze for about 4½ hours in frigid temperatures.
"The call came in at about 11:45 (p.m.) and the caller said the house was about 60 percent involved,'' Wolford said.
He said firefighters using nine trucks managed to save about 20 percent of the home, which belonged to Kenny Gardner.
