Oz, opera offered to thespians during PAC auditions

Professional and amateur actors and actresses will find Oz and opera the focuses of the offerings when Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center hosts auditions for two plays in their Pro-Am series beginning Sunday.

The auditions for “The Wizard of Oz” and “Lend Me a Tenor” are at the PAC at John Hardin High School.

Munchkin auditions, for those 7 or older who are less than 61-inches tall, are from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the PAC.

“The Wizard of Oz” auditions for roles other than munchkins are set for 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Munchkins will not be seen at those times.

“Lend Me a Tenor” auditions are from 9 to 11 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Callbacks are conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Rehearsals for “The Wizard of Oz” are scheduled for Aug. 1-Sept. 25 with performances slated for Sept. 26-29 and Oct. 3-5.

“Lend Me a Tenor” rehearsal dates are to be determined. Per­for­mances for “Lend Me a Tenor” are April 3-11, 2015.

PAC Pro-Am productions offer opportunities for professionals and amateurs to work alongside each other in a professional environment.
