Panel discusses state child death rates

Judges from Hardin County’s 9th Circuit joined medical experts, Court Appointed Special Advocates and reporters in a discussion Thursday geared at understanding data relating to Kentucky’s high number of child fatalities.

Per capita, more children die in Kentucky each year from abuse and neglect than children in other states, according to annual reports by Kentucky’s Department of Protection and Permanency and independent studies.
