State highway department workers cut and excavate a current entrance that connects to Dixie Boulevard on Monday to close it as part of the Radcliff Streetscape Project. The state highway department is doing the excavation work for entrance closures and reductions while C&A Concrete will excavate existing landscaping and pour the sidewalks. Work is beginning on the east side of the road then will switch over to the west side, working in sections, to minimize the impact on traffic. "(We're) trying not to make it too inconvenient," said Douglas Spainhower, president of C&A Concrete. The city of Radcliff has planned a groundbreaking ceremony at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dixie and Lincoln Trail boulevards.
