By Sarah Bennett

A man robbed the 3030 Ring Road branch of First Citizens Bank on Tuesday afternoon in Elizabethtown.

Elizabethtown Police Department responded to a call reporting a robbery at 2:13 p.m.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male wearing gray sweatpants and large sunglasses, according to an EPD news release. He had a closely shaved head and a large tattoo on the right side of his neck, police said.

Virgil Willoughby, EPD public information officer, said the suspect did not appear to have a gun. According to bank employees, the man entered the building and passed a note to a teller.

Police say the note read, “This is a robbery, just $100.00’s and $50.00’s, no bait, no alarms.”

The suspect fled the scene on foot headed in the direction of Kroger with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the release.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and ask anyone with information about the crime to contact Detective Billy Boling at (270) 765-4125.
