Voters will decide today on the further expansion of alcohol sales with a single ballot question asking “Are you in favor of the sale of distilled spirits and wine by the drink for consumption on the premises in Elizabethtown, Kentucky?”
The vote will either allow or restrict the city’s access to liquor drink licenses, which allow the sale of liquor by the drink without sales limits or seating restrictions.
The 14 Elizabethtown precincts determining the vote are Highlands, Mantle, City Park, Freeman, Oaklawn, Central, Elizabethtown East, Elizabethtown North, Elizabethtown West, Valley Creek, Memorial, part of Pine Valley, Helmwood Heights and Van Meter.
Hardin County Clerk Kenny Tabb said voters need a valid form of identification if a poll worker does not recognize the person. The four forms of valid identification acceptable in Kentucky elections are a driver’s license, Social Security card, photo ID and a credit card.
Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.
