Power restored after extensive outage

Nolin RECC lost electricity for about an hour Tuesday night and thousands of its customers in Radcliff, Vine Grove, Rineyville and areas around Elizabethtown were without service. Sections of Meade County also lost power after a main transmission line went down.

Customers began to report restored electricity around 9:15 p.m.

The service area impacted more than 33,000 Nolin customers.

Some Kentucky Utilities customers also were impacted.

A recording on Nolin RECC's service line indicated service was interrupted from East Kentucky Power. Police reported that utility workers were trying to re-route service to another transmission line.
