The Trojans dropped a pair of close games and took one on the chin during a three-game round robin at North Hardin on Friday and Saturday. The Trojans fell to Washington County, 4-2 in eight innings on Friday before being topped by Grayson County, 19-3 in five innings and by Green County, 15-11 on Saturday. n With a one-run lead in going into the seventh inning, it appeared that North Hardin was poised to snap its nine-game losing streak. Junior Tyler Perkins went six innings and struck out 10, while allowing six earned runs and walk before sophomore Alan Fortier came in to close the game. Senior catcher Ethan Hughes hit a pair of doubles to the lead the offense for North Hardin (3-24), while junior Levi Duncan hit a triple and eighth-grader David Hickman hit a double. n Things got out of hand quickly for the Trojans as they fell behind 11-0 after two innings against Grayson County. Six Grayson County players recorded at least one extra-base hit. n North Hardin battled back from a 2-0 deficit after three innings with a run sixth and a run in the seventh, but couldn’t keep the momentum going in extra innings. Washington County scored on a fielder’s choice and an error in the top of the eighth, and the Trojans were unable to respond. Senior pitcher Ethan Hughes struck out 14, while walking three and hitting one batter and allowing three earned runs in a complete-game effort for North Hardin. gREEN COUNTY 15, NORTH HARDIN 11                                                 R H E Green County           030   402 6 15 12 1 North Hardin            105   211 1 11 12 5 Low, Givens (3) Humphrey (7) and Edwards.
