Senior lefty Drew Harrington helped the Central Hardin Bruins continue one of their best starts in school history Wednesday.

Harrington struck out 16 and gave up just three hits and one walk as the seventh-ranked Bruins topped Louisville Butler, 6-0 in the Derby City Classic in Louisville.

“He was locked in,” Central Hardin coach Todd Thompson said. “He threw all of his pitches for strikes and had a good day.”

The Bruins (10-0) are off to their best start in the last 12 seasons. They started 9-1 in 2010 and 2011 and 7-3 last season. Central Hardin beat the Bears for the second time this season – the host Bruins won, 2-0 on March 23.

Seniors Alex Crowder, Troy Squires and Zach Ditto and freshman Justin Rouse collected multiple hits for Central Hardin. Crowder had three singles, two runs and an RBI, while Squires singled twice and scored twice.

Ditto doubled, singled and drove in two runs, and Rouse had two singles and an RBI.
