Sophomore Lance Baker won for the third time this season as the homestanding North Hardin Trojans held off Oldham County, 5-4 on Saturday.
Baker (3-0) allowed eight hits, four runs and two walks in four innings before junior Sy Ogden shut the Colonels down by striking out four in three innings to preserve the win. Baker struck out three.
Senior Jamaal Wilson and sophomore Javier Echevarria each went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run, while senior Jordan Sanchez singled twice and scored twice.
North Hardin (3-2) led 5-0 after two innings. Oldham County scored four runs in the third, but couldn’t get anything going against Ogden – who allowed one baserunner after taking over for Baker.

JOHN HARDIN GOES 1-2. The Bulldogs (2-2) lost to Taylor County, 9-5 and beat Cumberland County, 7-4 in the Taylor County Round Robin on Saturday, and lost to 5th Region foe Bardstown, 10-5 on Friday.
n Sophomore Dakoda Rothermel hit a solo homer and drove in two runs, but it wasn’t enough for John Hardin to overcome a 9-1 deficit.
Junior Dale Gumm chipped in with two singles and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
n Gumm had an RBI double as John Hardin rallied past Cumberland County, which led 3-1 after three innings. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth before a three-run seventh.
Senior Zach Miller and junior Lavonte Wilson each singled for John Hardin.
n Rothermel singled and drove in three runs, but the Bulldogs fell behind Bardstown 8-2 after three innings. Junior Dale Gumm had two singles.
Freshman Will Muir (0-1) took the loss, allowing five earned runs, three hits and three walks on one inning.

FORT KNOX 13, LOUISVILLE WAGGENER 12. The homestanding Eagles (1-4) rallied from an 11-3 deficit to give Dr. Gregg Mowen his first win as head coach.
Fort Knox scored three runs in the first, two in the sixth and four in the seventh to force extra innings. Freshman Mason Stacy led off the eighth with a single, stole second and scored on Kyle Gibson’s single.
Stacy (1-0) struck out 13 to pick up the win in relief.

LARUE COUNTY 19, FORT KNOX 9 (5 INNINGS). Senior Cole Hughes went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while senior Kelton Ford had two singles and two RBIs as the visiting Hawks (1-3) mercy ruled the Eagles for head coach Eric Allen’s first win at his alma mater.
LaRue County led 8-0 after the top of the first, but Fort Knox scored five times in the bottom half of the inning. The Hawks stretched the lead to 14-9 before blowing the game open with a five-run fourth.
Fort Knox, which lost its fourth straight, made 10 errors. Stacy singled for the Eagles’ only hit.

LARUE COUNTY GOES 0-3 IN WEST JESSAMINE INVITATIONAL. The Lady Hawks (1-3) lost to George Rogers Clark, 5-4 and Woodford County, 11-2 on Saturday and fell to Louisville Sacred Heart, 7-5 on Friday.
n Time ran out on the Lady Hawks, who scored two runs in the top of the sixth, against George Rogers Clark. The Lady Cardinals led 5-2 before sophomore Trishtian Cruse hit a two-run homer to bring LaRue County within one run.
Senior Kayla Skaggs (0-2) took the loss, allowing 10 hits and five earned runs in six innings. She struck out five.
n Woodford County, which had five extra-base hits, led 11-0 after three innings. Junior Brigitte Skaggs (1-2) gave up five hits, four earned runs and two walks in 1 2/3 innings.
Kayla Skaggs singled for LaRue County’s only hit and scored once.
n Against Sacred Heart, the Lady Hawks tied the game with two runs in the top of the fifth. But the Valkyries scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, when time was called.
Junior Peyton Gardner went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, while Cruse had an RBI double.
Kayla Skaggs allowed five earned runs and five hits in five innings. She struck out three.
