Senior Ryan Carek was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to lift the homestanding John Hardin Bulldogs to a 6-5 win over Glasgow on Monday in both teams’ season openers.
Sophomore Garrett Ray scored the winning run.
Senior Jacob Skaff got the win in relief of senior Cody Creamer, who struck out nine in five innings.
Creamer singled twice and drove in a run, while junior Claudio Deaza had two singles and two RBIs.

CENTRAL HARDIN 10, LOUISVILLE SOUTHERN 0, 5 INNINGS. Senior Austin Walters tossed four no-hit innings, senior Levi McCamish collected three hits and the Bruins (1-0) cruised in their season opener.
Walters struck out eight and walked two before junior Hunter Barnes relieved him in the fifth. Barnes struck out one and gave up two hits in an inning of work.
McCamish had two triples and scored four runs. Sophomore Troy Squires had two singles, three runs scored and two RBIs, while sophomore Drew Harrington had two hits, including a double to go along with two runs scored and an RBI. Senior Ryan Squires also drove in two runs.

WARREN EAST 6, ELIZABETHTOWN 5. Warren East hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning in both teams’ season openers.
Elizabethtown (0-1) led 5-4 going to the bottom of the fifth, when Warren East tied it at 6.
Junior Brice Taylor went 2-for-3 and hit a home run for the Panthers, while senior Will Sidebottom had a double.
Senior Cory Farrow allowed three hits, three earned runs and two walks in three innings. He struck out seven.

NORTH HARDIN 7, BULLITT CENTRAL 7 (TIE). Coach Ace Adcock’s debut didn’t end in a win or loss as the game was called due to darkness after five innings. Adcock said he hopes to finish the game later in the year.
Juniors Brady Patterson, Andrew Boyles and Antonio Simmons all went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Patterson and Boyles also drove in a run. Senior Isaac Coty had a single and scored two runs, while freshman Seth Duncan had a single and an RBI.
North Hardin used four pitchers – sophomore Aaron Jones, Tori Cunningham, sophomore Eli Carman and Boyles. Jones worked 2 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, five walks and two earned runs. Cunningham gave up five walks and four runs – three earned. Carman and Boyles combined to retire four straight hitters.

“It’s a tough one to swallow,” said second-year Meade County coach Todd Clanton.
Junior Garrett Ledford had a two-run double, while junior Brady Smith singled for the Green Wave’s only hits.
Ledford (0-1) allowed five hits, two walks and one earned run in 1 2/3 innings of relief. He struck out three.
