PREP BASKETBALL: Anderson's layup lifts North over Louisville Male, 56-54 (02/19)

Senior guard Sarah Anderson hit a running layup with 7 seconds left to lift the visiting North Hardin Lady Trojans to a 56-54 victory over Louisville Male on Wednesday.

North Hardin trailed 13-7 at the end of the first quarter and took a one-point lead at halftime over the Lady Bulldogs (10-12). The Lady Trojans (23-4) entered the fourth quarter down one, 43-42.

Anderson, who scored eight points, hit the layup in traffic as North Hardin closed out the regular-season portion of its schedule with a three-game win streak.

Junior post Destiny Bramblett led the Lady Trojans with 23 points and 16 rebounds, while sophomore guard RaeChaun Edwards added 12 points and three steals.

Eighth-grade forward Chanel Roberts chipped in with six points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

NELSON COUNTY 75, CENTRAL HARDIN 49. In a battle of future Division-I post players, University of Kentucky commit Samantha Drake scored a game-high 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the visiting Lady Cardinals (23-5) past the Lady Bruins (18-8).

Drake – who also had four blocks, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes – went 11-of-16 from the field and 10-of-13 from the foul line to lead Nelson County to its ninth consecutive win.

Central Hardin senior post Kaitie Fritts, a Lipscomb commit, was limited to 12 points, five rebounds and one steal. Senior guard Elena Hitch paced the Lady Bruins with 16 points, two assists and two steals, while senior post Alanna Stanton chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal.

ELIZABETHTOWN CHRISTIAN 77, FOX CREEK CHRISTIAN 50. Titus Sullivan and Brennan Pace both posted double-doubles as the Eagles won on the road.

Sullivan had 33 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, while Pace had 23 rebounds, 10 points, eight assists and two steals.

Titus Szazynski added 17 points and two steals, while Andrew Buckles had 13 points and three rebounds.
