LaRue County guard Kelton Ford opened the first Indiana-Kentucky Junior Boys’ All-Star game with a power-packed performance.
Ford scored 10 points in Kentucky’s first meeting with Indiana, but his Junior All-Stars suffered a 126-103 loss at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis. He was 1-of-5 Kentucky players to reach double digits, along with Omar Prewitt (18), Darryl Hicks (16), Dominique Hawkins (14), LaVonne Holland (14) and Taylor Glover (10).
But on Saturday night at North Oldham, Ford was held scoreless as Indiana made it a sweep – recording a 81-71 win.
Hawkins led the Kentucky contingent with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Holland added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while Hicks had 12 points. Derek Willis added 10 points and eight rebounds. Kentucky led by 11 points in the first half, but the Indiana all-stars rallied to pull out the win.
