Tonight features a full slate of high school basketball games highlighted by a 17th District showdown between the North Hardin Lady Trojans and John Hardin Lady Bulldogs and three doubleheaders.
The Lady Trojans (18-5) host John Hardin (18-6) tonight at 7:30. North Hardin sits in second place in the district at 4-2, while the Lady Bulldogs are in third at 4-3. The winner of this game wraps up the second seed for the district tournament although the teams are already locked into meeting again in the district semifinals.
Elizabethtown plays at Fort Knox tonight at 6 in a boy/girl doubleheader. The two games don’t have a factor in district seeding. The Panthers (11-8, 2-4 district) will meet the Eagles (6-13, 0-7) again in the district quarterfinals. The Lady Panthers (16-6, 7-0) have secured the top seed, while Fort Knox (1-17, 0-6) will be the fifth seed.
LaRue County plays at Green County tonight at 6:30 in a girl/boy doubleheader. The Hawks (13-6, 4-1) earned the top seed last week, while the LaRue County girls (17-4, 5-0) need to beat Green County (13-10, 4-1) to claim the No. 1 seed.
Other boys’ games tonight are: Central Hardin (9-10) at Louisville Eastern (10-11); Grayson County (8-13) at John Hardin (17-3); North Hardin (17-7) at Louisville Central (16-4); and Ohio County (15-7) at Meade County (6-16). The Central Hardin girls (4-18) host Bullitt Central (6-16), while North Hardin Christian plays at Hopkinsville Heritage Christian in a girl/boy doubleheader.
On Saturday, the Elizabethtown boys play at LaRue County at 7:30 p.m. The Panthers edged the Hawks, 49-48 last season for their 10th consecutive win in the series.
Meade County plays at Frederick Fraize at 6 p.m. in a boy/girl doubleheader, while the John Hardin boys play at Nelson County (7-14) at 7:30 p.m. and the Lady Hawks host Adair County (16-7) at 4 p.m.
