PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Bruins fall, Hawks win (01/23)

The Central Hardin Bruins struggled from the 3-point line at home Tuesday night. South Oldham had no such issues.

The visiting Dragons scored almost as many points from the arc (45) as Central Hardin did all game as South Oldham crushed the Bruins, 88-51.

Central Hardin (8-9) was just 3-of-20 from the arc as it fell below the .500 mark for the first time this season. The Bruins have dropped three straight and 5-of-7.

Junior forward Dillon Glenn led Central Hardin with 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior center T.J. Gordon added nine points and six rebounds, while senior guard Troy Squires had five points, seven assists and six rebounds.

LARUE COUNTY 65, LOUISVILLE EVANGEL CHRISTIAN 45. The visiting Hawks (11-6) struggled from the arc and the free-throw line, but still managed to pick up a win over the Eagles – who have lost 9-of-11.

LaRue County was 3-of-19 on 3-pointers and 14-of-30 from the line.

Senior guard Kelton Ford led the Hawks with 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals, while junior forward Kody Key-Close added 17 points and five steals.

Senior guard Dustin Coulter chipped in with 10 points and two assists. Junior guard Thomas Harman scored nine points.

NORTH HARDIN CHRISTIAN 75, JEFFERSONTOWN AIE 54. Senior Carlos Jones had a double-double and the visiting Falcons (15-2) hit 10 3s as they cruised past AIE.

Jones finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, while freshman Joshua Jones added 18 points. Chris Kerulis chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.

JOHN HARDIN 73, BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY 45. Senior forward Michelle Montgomery neared a double-double to help the host Lady Bulldogs (17-6) snap a two-game losing streak.

Montgomery had 21 points and nine rebounds, while junior guard Zacchea Small chipped in with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Freshman guard Tyra Jackson added 13 points and four assists.

Junior wing Nawdya Fletcher and junior guard Tajah Haley each scored seven for John Hardin, which led 39-21 at the half.
