PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Bulldogs beat Marshall; Lady Bulldogs roll (12/21)

With star senior guard Brandon Price hampered by strep throat, the John Hardin Bulldogs turned to junior forward Keon Williams to lead them past Marshall County on Thursday.

Williams scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 57-53 win over the Marshals in the T.J. Samson Community Hospital Holiday Classic at Glasgow.

Senior forward Daveon Greene added 13 points and sophomore guard Elijah Smith had 11 for John Hardin (5-1), which won its fifth straight.

Price scored just two points in 8 minutes.

LARUE COUNTY 73, FRANKFORT WESTERN HILLS 58. Senior guard Kelton Ford neared a quadruple-double as the Hawks (3-4) rolled past the host Wolverines in the Capital City Classic.

Ford had 28 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and seven steals, while junior forward Kody Key-Close added 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Junior forward Tyler Howell and sophomore forward Caleb Sheffer each scored six points for LaRue County, which outscored Western Hills 38-24 after halftime.

Ford has scored 58 points in leading the Hawks to two straight wins.

Senior center Tyler Landry had 12 points and eight rebounds for North Hardin, while senior guard Scotty Sterusky chipped in with six points and three steals.

Junior guard Khalil Rasheed, senior guard Nick Lewis and sophomore guard Tyronn King each scored five points.

Former North Hardin player Jordan Brangers, a senior guard, scored a game-high 15 points off the bench.

Junior center Zacchea Small chipped in with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals, while freshman wing Emily Bohannon had nine points and one assist.
