PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Friday's Games (12/23)

Senior guard Brandon Price scored a game-high 25 points to lead the John Hardin Bulldogs to a 71-64 win over Barren County in the semifinals of the T.J. Samson Community Hospital Holiday Classic at Glasgow on Friday night.

Price also had eight rebounds and five assists for the Bulldogs (6-1), who won their sixth straight and played tournament host Glasgow in the championship late Saturday night.

Senior forward Daveon Greene added 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while sophomore guard Elijah Smith scored nine points. Junior forward Keon Williams had eight points and three assists.

John Hardin made more free throws (25) and than field goals (22).

PERRY COUNTY CENTRAL 59, CENTRAL HARDIN 58. The visiting Commodores hit a baseline jumper with 0.4 seconds left to knock off the Bruins (4-3), who were seeking their second straight win.

Senior guard Troy Squires led Central Hardin with 16 points, while junior forward Dillon Glenn scored 14 and junior guard Jacob Barnes had 12.

Perry County Central (7-1) won its seventh straight.

LOUISVILLE DUPONT MANUAL 59, NORTH HARDIN 57, OT. Three players scored in double figures, but the Trojans (6-4) still lost their third straight game in the Best in Hoops event at Oldham County.

Senior guard Scotty Sterusky led North Hardin with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, while junior forward Khalil Rasheed had 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals.

Senior guard Nick Lewis added 12 points and two assists, and sophomore guard Tyronn King had eight points, four assists and two steals. Senior forward Tyler Landry neared a double-double with seven points and nine rebounds.

LARUE COUNTY 62, HENRY COUNTY 45. Senior guard Kelton Ford continued his torrid play in leading the Hawks (4-4) past the Wildcats and into the championship of the Capital City Classic at Frankfort Western Hills.

Ford had 24 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals, while junior forward Kody Key-Close added 11 points, two steals, one rebound and one assist.

Junior forward Tyler Howell chipped in with nine points, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks, and junior guard Thomas Harman had eight points and five rebounds.

LaRue County, which won its third straight, played Louisville Doss in Saturday’s championship.

Senior guard Bryce Garris scored 16, while sophomore forward Micah Kaiser had 12 and freshman forward John Millay scored 11.

Meade County played Bethlehem late Saturday night.

NORTH HARDIN 46, CLAY COUNTY 42. Senior Chanel Roberts’ double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds lifted the Lady Trojans over the Lady Tigers in the Muhlenberg County Christmas Tournament quarterfinals.

Roberts also had four assists and two steals, while freshman guard Tamiah Stanford added eight points, five rebounds and two steals.

Junior guard Kiera Jones chipped in with eight points and three assists, while junior guard Domeneque Taft scored six points.

Freshman forward Erin Boley led Elizabethtown with 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals, while sophomore center Reauna Cleaver had nine points, three rebounds and one block.

Junior guard Kinsey Mudd scored nine points and sophomore guard Darien Huff scored seven.

SIMON KENTON 71, MEADE COUNTY 59. The Lady Pioneers scored 23 points in the third quarter, turning a 34-all game into a 57-46 advantage going to the fourth quarter in the Republic Bank Holiday Classic quarterfinals.

Sophomore guard Morgan Turner led Meade County (6-4) with 27 points, while junior guard Raley Johnson had 17 points and eight rebounds.

Johnson and Turner combined to hit 9-of-17 3-pointers for the Lady Waves, who played Pulaski Southwestern on Saturday in their final game of the tournament.
