PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: John Hardin, E'town post wins; Lady Hawks roll (01/25)

The John Hardin Bulldogs are rolling into their showdown with fourth-ranked Madison Central.

Junior forward Keon Williams had 21 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal as the No. 11 Bulldogs knocked off Louisville Western, 66-55 for their eighth straight win.

Senior guard Brandon Price added 16 points, seven assists and three steals for John Hardin (16-3), while sophomore guard Elijah Smith had 11 points and three steals.

Senior forward Daveon Greene and junior guard Patrick Anderson each scored eight points.

ELIZABETHTOWN 65, JEFFERSONTOWN 58. Junior forward Ja’Von Cotton hit four 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 21 points as the host Panthers (11-7) knocked off the Chargers.

Junior guard Nic McDonald chipped in with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench, while junior forward Dominique Harding added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Sophomore post Zane Najdawi had 10 points and six rebounds, while senior forward Chas Jones scored nine points.

NO. 6 ELIZABETHTOWN 78, WASHINGTON COUNTY 48. Eight players scored at least five points and the Lady Panthers (15-5) hit 9-of-10 3-pointers as they rolled to a lopsided victory over 5th Region foe Washington County.

Sophomore guard Darien Huff led the Lady Panthers with 12 points, three rebounds and two assists, while freshman forward Erin Boley had 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Junior guard Kinsey Mudd and sophomore center Reauna Cleaver each scored nine points, while senior forward Madison Lark and senior guard Anna Bowling each had eight.

Sophomore guard Livie Bowling scored six and senior forward Deanna Downs five for Elizabethtown, which led 44-23 at the half and finished 33-of-53 from the field overall.

LARUE COUNTY 72, BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY 44. Junior guard Ivy Brown nearly outscored the visiting Lady Tigers by herself, scoring 36 points to lead the Lady Hawks (15-4) to their fourth straight win.

Brown also had 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals, while sophomore guard Alexis Brewer had 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Senior forward Alisha Durbin scored six points, and freshman guard Delany Eastridge scored five.

MEADE COUNTY 76, OWENSBORO 56. Sophomore guard Morgan Turner scored 32 points and hit five 3-pointers, helping the visiting Lady Waves (13-8) turn an eight-point first-quarter deficit into a 20-point win.

Turner also had 15 rebounds, while junior guard Raley Johnson had 24 points, four steals and one assist. Junior guard Katelyn Cucino chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Meade County struggled from the field as it finished 17-of-40, but made up for it by going 31-of-45 from the free throw line and 11-of-19 on 3s.
