PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: John Hardin rallies for win over Adair (12/07)

Down 17 points with 3:14 left in the third quarter Thursday night, the host John Hardin Lady Bulldogs rallied past the Adair County Lady Indians for their second straight win.

Trailing 54-37, John Hardin outscored Adair County by 20 points the rest of the way en route to a 71-68 win. A 14-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters got the Lady Bulldogs (3-1) back in it.

Junior Tajah Haley scored 14 of her team-high 16 points in the second half, while junior Zacchea Small chipped in with 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Senior Michelle Montgomery added 14 points and eight rebounds, and eighth-grader Jayla Freeman scored eight.

ELIZABETHTOWN 61, NELSON COUNTY 56. Freshman Erin Boley scored 20 points and sophomore Darien Huff added 15 as the host Lady Panthers (4-0) held off a furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt by the Lady Cardinals (2-2).

Boley also had six rebounds and two assists, while Huff had one assist.

Junior Kinsey Mudd chipped in with eight points for Elizabethtown, which made 23-of-33 free throws.

MEADE COUNTY 70, CLOVERPORT FREDERICK FRAIZE 12. The host Lady Waves held 11th District foe Frederick Fraize to single digits in every quarter as they rolled to their second straight win.

Sophomore Morgan Turner led Meade County (2-2, 1-0 district) with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals, while senior Maya Luney added 15 points, five rebounds and one assist.

Sophomore Elissa Youart chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds and one assist, and sophomore Kelsey Sutton scored 11 points.

MEADE COUNTY 63, CLOVERPORT FREDERICK FRAIZE 26. Sophomore Will King scored 12 points and senior Bryce Garris had 11 points and three steals to lead the host Green Wave past 11th District rival Frederick Fraize.

Sophomore Micah Kaiser chipped in with eight points and five rebounds, while sophomore John Wilson added seven points and four assists.

Meade County (2-2, 2-0 district), which led 28-10 at the half, held the Aces to single digits in three quarters.
