PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: North knocks off LaRue in OT, 63-60 (12/15)

Sophomore forward Dewyane White hit a jumper with about 8 seconds remaining to lift the visiting North Hardin Trojans to a 63-60 overtime win over 5th Region rival LaRue County on Tuesday night.

North Hardin (2-2) led 19-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Hawks (2-2) scored 28 points in the second quarter to take a 36-31 lead at halftime.

Junior post Adam Hendrix led North Hardin with 16 points, while sophomore guard Jordan Brangers had 15, junior forward Jauan Akins had 14 and senior forward Chris Strerusky had 13.

Sophomore guard Kelton Ford paced LaRue County with 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal, while junior guard Kyle Sheeran added 16 points, five assists and one steal.

Senior post Chase Reynolds chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds and one steal.

LOUISVILLE MALE 76, ELIZABETHTOWN 65. The visiting Panthers (2-4) had two players score more than 20 points, but it wasn’t enough against the Bulldogs (3-0).

Senior forward Mitchell Henry scored 10 of his team’s first 14 points and scored 25 points for Elizabethtown, while senior forward Chris McDonald added 23 points.

Senior guard Terry Jones added nine points – seven from the foul line.

Senior wing London Moore had a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, four assists), while senior guard Gadiel Mendez had 12 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Senior guard Austin Parton added 12 points and four steals, while senior guard Jermell Rogers added 12 points and one block.

BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY 73, MEADE COUNTY 63. The host Green Wave (2-3 overall, 1-1 11th District) trailed by double digits at the half and couldn’t recover against the Fighting Tigers (4-1, 2-0).

Junior forward Cheaney Schwartz led the Green Wave with 13 points, five rebounds and a block, while junior guard Bo Wilson added 13 points, three assists and three steals.

Junior forward Brady Smith chipped in with 12 points and sophomore guard Bryce Garris had eight points and three assists.

ELIZABETHTOWN 68, LOUISVILLE MALE 32. Elizabethtown’s four seniors combined for nearly 50 points as the balanced Lady Panthers got scoring from 11 players and rolled by the host Lady Bulldogs.

Senior guard Natalie Greenwell had 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals, while senior forward Adelaide Luckett posted a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds, five assists).

Senior guard Hannah Hart chipped in with 12 points and four steals, while senior guard Kymbur Berrow had nine points.

JEFFERSONTOWN AIE 41, NORTH HARDIN CHRISTIAN 39. The visiting Lady Falcons (2-3) battled back from an eight-point hole in the first quarter to take a four-point lead in the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on.

Sophomore wing Missy Schneider led North Hardin Christian with 12 points and nine rebounds, while eighth-grade guard Shontice Taylor and junior forward Shamyiah McCamish added nine points each.

Senior guard Haley Daniels had six assists, five steals and three points.
