LOUISVILLE — Three days after having a career day under center, Tyler Davis only threw for 55 yards on Tuesday night.
But Davis, a junior quarterback at North Hardin Christian, didn’t have to have another career day against homestanding Beth Haven.
Senior running back Justin Jones scored two touchdowns and ran in a 2-point conversion and senior Mark Oyola scored twice as the Falcons downed Beth Haven, 49-24.
Jones scored his touchdowns on runs of 1 and 57 yards, while Oyola hauled in a 38-yard pass from Davis and also returned a fumble 37 yards for another score.
Oyola’s reception and Jones’ successful conversion run gave North Hardin Christian (4-3 overall, 4-1 in eight-man) a 14-0 lead with 7:51 left in the second quarter. Beth Haven cut the lead to 14-8 on a 26-yard pass and 2-point conversion pass, but the Falcons scored the next 35 points to put the game out of reach.
Senior Haustin Kimbrough scored on a 25-yard run and senior Quintin Jones ran in the 2-point conversion with 5:30 left in the half before North Hardin Christian scored twice in the final 7 seconds – on a safety when Beth Haven snapped the ball through the back of the end zone and on Jones’ 43-yard kick return with no time left.
Sophomore Michael Ford scored on a 35-yard run, Justin Jones scored his second touchdown and Oyola returned the fumble for a 49-8 advantage.
Justin Jones led the Falcons with 93 yards rushing on eight carries, while Quintin Jones added 51 on seven. Ford caught one pass for 9 yards and Kimbrough had one catch for 8 yards.
