PREP ROUNDUP: Kirkland homers three times as John Hardin crushes Green County (05/13)

Senior Andrew Kirkland hit three home runs and drove in five runs as the John Hardin Bulldogs rolled to a 16-0 win in five innings at 5th Region foe Green County on Monday.
Kirkland has five homers this season for the Bulldogs (15-16), who led 14-0 after three innings in winning their second straight.
Senior Dale Gumm had three singles and five RBIs, while freshman Darian Pope singled and doubled. Sophomores Ryan Gann and Garrison McMillen each had a double and sophomore Jacobi Smith had two singles.
Junior Dajour Strong (5-3) struck out three and gave up three hits and three walks in four innings.

ELIZABETHTOWN 4, ANDERSON COUNTY 2. Sophomore Hunter Sullivan had two singles, a double, two RBIs and a run as the homestanding Panthers (21-7) rallied past the Bearcats (12-12).
Senior Preston Patterson added an RBI single for Elizabethtown, which tied it at 2 in the bottom of the fifth and scored twice in the fifth to regain the lead.
Junior Zeke Pinkham and sophomores Peyton Payne and Jack Wilson each singled for the Panthers.
Junior Conner Kindred (3-1) earned the win in relief. He struck out two and gave up three hits in two innings.

MEADE COUNTY 11, LOUISVILLE DESALES 5. Sophomore Kase Mattingly (7-1) struck out five and gave up six hits, four earned runs and three walks in six innings as the Green Wave (14-12) held off the visiting Colts (18-8-1).
Mattingly also had three singles, a double and two RBIs.
Senior Keith Carter added two singles, a double and three RBIs, while sophomore Eli Mefford singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored three times. Senior Zeb Wilson singled, doubled and drove in two runs for Meade County, which scored six runs in the bottom of the second.

NO. 3 CENTRAL HARDIN 5, GRAYSON COUNTY 3. Junior standout Kelsey McGuffin hit two two-run home runs, the second of which helped the host Lady Bruins (29-2-1) rally past the Lady Cougars (18-11).
Junior Shelby Maggard went 2-for-3 with a run for Central Hardin, which trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth.
Senior Jessica Nall (15-0) earned the win in relief. She struck out nine and gave up three unearned runs, one walk and one hit after taking over for senior starter April Pence.

MEADE COUNTY 15, DAVIESS COUNTY 8. Junior Maddie Tabor went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, single, five RBIs and a run as the host Lady Waves (21-10) outlasted the Lady Panthers (13-12).
Senior Chaselyn Allgeier added two doubles and three runs, while sophomore Rachel Ayer had two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. Sophomore Katie Wilson went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI for Meade County, which led 8-2 after three innings and 14-8 after five.
Junior Neeli Rhoads gave up six hits, six runs and one walk in three innings. She struck out two.
