Seniors Zach Jaquess and Jeremy Garcia each recorded a hat trick as John Hardin rolled to a 9-0 win over 17th District foe Fort Knox on Thursday.
Jaquess scored all of his goals in the first half off assists from seniors Zack Shortt, Jacob Drexler and Brandon Peck, while Garcia scored off passes from Shortt, senior Josh Chancey and sophomore Michael Dean. Peck also scored to stake the visiting Bulldogs (4-1, 2-1 district) to a 7-0 lead at the half.
Freshmen Rylan Jaquess and Ethan Sivulich scored in the second half for John Hardin, which had 23 shots on goal.
Fort Knox (0-5, 0-3) has been held scoreless in three of its last four games.
UP NEXT: John Hardin plays at Nelson County at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Fort Knox hosts Central Hardin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
BOYS: ELIZABETHTOWN 0, BARDSTOWN BETHLEHEM 0.The result might not have been what Elizabethtown coach Jon Parsons wanted out of his team, but it’s better than a loss.
The homestanding Panthers (2-3-1) outshot the Eagles, 12-4 but couldn’t take advantage of their chances.
“We dominated the game,” Parsons said. “We just couldn’t finish. Their keeper made some great saves. It was a really hard-fought game on both ends.”
Sophomore keeper Kaileb Bennett made four saves.

BOYS: NELSON COUNTY 5, LARUE COUNTY 0. The visiting Hawks (0-4) were held scoreless for the second straight game.
Junior keeper Holden Blair had a busy night in net, stopping 23 shots.

GIRLS: MEADE COUNTY 4, HART COUNTY 0. Four players scored as the host Lady Waves (2-1) cruised past the Lady Raiders.
Junior Jaycee Serrano had a goal and an assist, while seniors Haley Adcock, Katelyn Cucino and Micaela Ray all scored. Senior Morgan Shots had two assists, while senior Jordyn Wayne had one.
Senior keeper Shonte Williams made 12 saves for Meade County, which led 1-0 at the half.
