PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP: Woodford rallies past Lady Panthers (10/10)

The 20th-ranked and visiting Woodford County Lady Yellow Jackets scored twice 17 minutes apart in the second half as they knocked off No. 17 Elizabethtown, 2-0 on Wednesday.

Woodford County (11-6) has won 5-of-6, while the Lady Panthers (12-9) lost 2-of-3 to close the regular season.

Senior keeper Haley Jones stopped six shots in the first half for Elizabethtown, while reserve sophomore Carley Pyles had four saves in the second half.

UP NEXT: Elizabethtown plays North Hardin or Fort Knox at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 17th District Tournament semifinals at Central Hardin.

JOHN HARDIN 2, COLLINS 2. Senior defender Katie Sivulich scored on a direct free kick from 25 yards out with 14 minutes remaining, helping the visiting Lady Bulldogs (7-10-1) forge a tie with Collins (7-8).

Senior attacker Anne Hare also scored for John Hardin, which went 2-2-1 in its last five regular-season games.

Junior keeper Tamera Taylor stopped 10 shots.

LARUE COUNTY 6, LOUISVILLE SENECA 0. Freshman attacker Gillian Nunn had a hat trick as the visiting Lady Hawks (13-2-2) ended the regular season winning 5-of-6.

Sophomore midfielder Nichole Thomas added two goals, while senior midfielder Abby Modrowski had a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Rachel Wolf had three assists.

Junior goalie Harley Keller stopped six shots as LaRue County recorded its seventh shutout of the season.

UP NEXT: LaRue County plays Taylor County at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 18th District Tournament semifinals at Marion County.

BOYS

TAYLOR COUNTY 3, LARUE COUNTY 1. The visiting Cardinals (9-10-1, 5-2 18th District) avenged an early season loss to the Hawks (7-10-1, 4-3), pulling away to hand LaRue County its second straight loss to close the regular season.

Senior forward Curtis Milby scored off an assist from senior defender Jacob Hurt.

Sophomore keeper Austin McCreery made 12 saves.
