The News-Enterprise OWENSBORO — The Meade County Lady Waves had to wait a few days to play in the quarterfinals of the 3rd Region Softball Tournament, but junior Amanda Smith made sure the wait was well worth it. Smith went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run batted in to lead the Lady Waves to the semifinals of the eight-team tournament with a 3-1 win over Muhlenberg North on Thursday at Owensboro Catholic. Sophomore Erin Sireno went 3-for-4 with a triple, while Scarlet Powers and freshman Kayla Padgett each had a single and an RBI.
