PREP SOFTBALL: North Hardin falls in title game of Crusade for Children Tournament on post (04/20)

The News-Enterprise FORT KNOX — The 20th-ranked North Hardin High School softball team went 5-1-1 on Friday and Saturday on its way to a second-place finish in the 10-team Crusade for Children Tournament at the Kilianski Sports Complex. -- The Trojans (12-1-1) fell to 34th-ranked Louisville Assumption in the final, 8-2, late Saturday night in North Hardin’s fifth game of the day. Andi Whelan (9-2-1) struck out five in the loss. North Hardin was limited to three hits, one of which was a triple by Halle Bird. Whelan (9-1-1) struck out six and didn’t give up an earned run in the game, which was called in bottom of the fifth inning due to the time limit. Whelan also had a double, while Sarah Anderson had two singles and Shartzer had an RBI single in the first inning to go along with a triple.
