The 21st-ranked Central Hardin Lady Bruins erased two three-run deficits against visiting Bowling Green on Tuesday as they rallied past the 10th-ranked Lady Gators in 10 innings, 7-6.

Junior winning pitcher April Pence helped herself by going 2-for-5 with two runs scored. She struck out 13, walked four and allowed seven hits.

Senior Baylee Sullivan doubled, scored twice and drove in two. Senior Jackie Hobert went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

ELIZABETHTOWN13, WASHINGTON COUNTY 2, 6 INNINGS.Eighth-grader Sarah Beth Hundley and junior Brianna Taylor both went 3-for-4, combining for three RBIs and five runs scored as the visiting Lady Panthers (5-6) had 19 hits against the Commanderettes (4-5).

Taylor had two of her team’s five doubles, while senior Allison Sherrard, eighth-grader Taylor Thomas and freshman Brooke Chancey each had one.

Winning pitcher Callie Sondergard (5-2) helped herself by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. She struck out two, walked one and scattered five hits.

MEADECOUNTY 16, BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY 2. The visiting Lady Waves erupted for 15 runs in the fifth inning – the second straight game they’ve scored 10 or more runs in an inning – as they rolled past 11th District foe Breckinridge County.

Junior Chaselyn Allgeier reached base four times, including a triple, and drove in two runs for Meade County (12-5, 1-0 district). Junior Ashley Nikolao singled, scored twice and drove in two runs, while sophomore Elissa Youart tripled and scored three times.

Freshman Abby Whelan struck out five and gave up three walks and two hits in four innings.

BASEBALL: MEADE COUNTY 5, NORTH BULLITT 2. Making his first varsity pitching start, freshman Josh Durbin struck out two, walked one and scattered six hits – all singles – to record a complete-game win as the visiting Green Wave (6-8) ended a four-game losing streak by beating the Eagles (4-7).

Freshman Jacob Bewley went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored, while junior Zeb Wilson went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Senior Kaleb Lancaster singled and scored.
