The Elizabethtown Lady Panthers won two games in the Vernon Bibb Memorial Classic at Louisville Assumption over the weekend.
Elizabethtown (9-8) beat South Oldham, 11-0 in six innings Saturday and beat Christian Academy of Louisville, 6-3 on Friday.
n Freshman Nicole Blackstone singled, doubled and drove in two runs, while freshman Callie Sondergard tripled and drove in three runs as the Lady Panthers blanked South Oldham.
Freshman Kayla Bradley doubled and drove in two runs.
Blackstone struck out six and gave up five hits and two walks in six innings.
n Senior Brianna Taylor hit a solo homer and sophomore Carly Patterson added two singles and an RBI to lift the Lady Panthers over CAL.
Freshman Taylor Thomas singled, doubled and scored twice, while Sondergard had an RBI double.
Blackstone scattered eight hits, three runs – one earned – and two walks in seven innings.

JOHN HARDIN GOES 0-4. The Lady Bulldogs went winless at the McDonald’s Classic at Harrison County over the weekend. They lost to Harrison County, 11-0 on Friday before falling Saturday to Warren East, 14-0, Whitley County, 12-6 and Warren East, 15-0.
n Harrison County scored in all five innings and benefited from John Hardin’s seven errors.
Junior Taylor Miller suffered the loss in the circle, giving up 10 hits and three walks. Junior Melia Kadetz singled for the Lady Bulldogs’ lone hit.
n Warren East cranked out 10 hits and held John Hardin to one, a single from eighth-grader Season Plants.
Freshman Ally Furnish struck out one and walked four in the circle.
n After Whitley County put up 10 runs in the top of the first, John Hardin exploded for six in the bottom half of the frame but it wasn’t enough in a five-inning defeat.
Hayley Mouser went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, while freshman Faith Walters doubled and drove in two. Sophomore Melodi Haught went 2-for-3 and Furnish, Kadetz and Miller also had hits.
Miller allowed three earned runs in 1 1/3 innings before being relieved by Furnish, who struck out three and gave up three hits in 3 2/3 innings.
n Warren East scored 13 runs in the second inning to end the game after three innings.
Furnish suffered the loss, yielding six hits and five walks with one strikeout.
The Lady Bulldogs did not have a hit and committed seven errors.
