Friday morning’s ice storm has shifted schedules for many area high school and college teams and canceled games for others involving events Friday, Saturday and even today.

n The high school boys’ basketball game of the night was supposed to be the Central Hardin Bruins taking on the North Hardin Trojans in Radcliff with 17th District Tournament seeding implications on the line. It was also supposed to be homecoming night. Instead, the teams will play at 7:30 p.m. Monday and homecoming will be Tuesday, when the Trojans host Adair County at 7:30.

n Because they couldn’t confirm Friday night that they would be able to play on Saturday evening, the John Hardin Bulldogs had to pull out of their game against Madison Central in the Joe B. Hall Classic at Montgomery County.

n Elizabethtown’s boys’ road game Friday against Adair County was canceled and will not be rescheduled.

n John Hardin’s girls’ road game Friday against Nelson County was canceled. The teams have not settled on a new date.

n North Hardin Christian’s boys’ home game Friday against Louisville Highlands Latin has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in Radcliff.

n LaRue County’s girl-boy doubleheader Friday at 18th District rival Caverna was pushed back a day and played Saturday.

n Meade County’s boys’ road game Friday against 11th District rival Breckinridge County was postponed until 4:30 p.m. today in Harned.

n Fort Knox’s girls’ road game Friday against Louisville St. Francis was canceled and has not been rescheduled.

n The seven-school 2nd Region Bowling Tournament – featuring Central Hardin, Green County, John Hardin, Nelson County, North Hardin, Taylor County and Thomas Nelson – was originally scheduled for Friday (individuals) and Saturday (teams) at Dix-E-Town Lanes. Individuals will now be at 11 a.m. Monday, while the team tournament begins at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

n The inaugural KHSAA State Competitive Cheer Championships – featuring Central Hardin (Class 2-A coed), Elizabethtown (1-A large), North Hardin (2-A small) and LaRue County (1-A medium) – at Western Kentucky University’s Diddle Arena were scheduled for Saturday. They will now be held Feb. 23 in Bowling Green.

n The Elizabethtown Community and Technical College men’s basketball team was scheduled to travel to Pikeville today to take on the Bears’ junior varsity team, but that game has been canceled as well. The Barons are still slated to host Mid-Continent University’s JV team at 7 p.m. Wednesday at T.K. Stone Middle School in their final regular-season game.
