Rebecca Hepner was in a zone Monday night.

The Elizabethtown junior libero had 11 aces in 35 serves, helping the Lady Panthers to a three-set win over homestanding Collins, 25-12, 20-25, 25-14.

Hepner was at her best in the first set, when she recorded nine aces as Elizabethtown turned a 12-7 deficit into a win. In his nearly 20 years of coaching, Lady Panthers coach Bart Catlett said he had never seen a player do that.

“She definitely tried to take the match over and the girls were feeding off her energy,” Catlett said. “It was fun to watch.”

Junior middle blocker Hannah Wurth chipped in with six kills and five blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Alyssa Keys and senior middle hitter Shelby Priddy each had seven kills.

Senior setter Megan Meek added 21 assists.
