PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Bulldogs sweep Knox (09/03)

The visiting John Hardin Lady Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season, cruising to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-11, 27-25) victory over 17th District rival Fort Knox on Tuesday.

Senior outside hitter Ebonie Hampton had 10 aces, four kills and four digs for John Hardin (1-4, 1-1 district), which had lost four straight.

Sophomore outside hitter Ariana Giglio chipped in with 10 kills, seven digs and three aces, while senior middle hitter Amy Green added five aces and five blocks.

Sophomore setter Sara Collins had 16 assists and two kills.

No statistics were available for the Lady Eagles (0-5, 0-3).

ELIZABETHTOWN 3, SHELBY COUNTY 0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-13). Senior middle blocker Hannah Wurth had 12 kills, six blocks and four aces as the visiting Lady Panthers (5-1) won their fifth straight.

Senior libero Rebecca Hepner added 10 kills, 13 digs, one ace and one assist, while senior setter Kayla Hindle had 30 assists, three digs, two kills and one block.

Senior defensive specialist Gabbie Collins went 21-of-21 at the service line with two aces. Senior outside hitter Kristen Lile, junior outside hitter Brooke Chancey and freshman outside hitter Mattie Reding combined for 14 kills.

WASHINGTON COUNTY 3, LARUE COUNTY 1 (25-13, 21-25, 25-15, 25-21). The host Lady Hawks (4-2) saw their two-match winning streak snapped by the undefeated Commanderettes, who won their 11th straight.

Senior middle hitter Alyson Yingling paced LaRue County with 10 kills, nine digs and one ace, while junior middle hitter Chloe Owen had seven kills, three digs and one block.

Junior outside hitter Tessa Yingling had six kills and one ace, and junior setter Keehana Bowen had 24 assists, one ace and one kill.

NORTH HARDIN CHRISTIAN 3, HILLVIEW MICAH 0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-13). Junior outside hitter Meredith Bowman had 14 kills, five digs and three aces as the visiting Lady Falcons (5-2) cruised.

Senior setter Judith Breeze chipped in with 13 assists, four digs, three aces and two kills, and junior middle hitter Eliza-Kate Moore had six kills, six aces, three digs and two blocks.

Sophomore setter Skye Brown added nine assists, eight digs, three aces and one kill.

UP NEXT: North Hardin Christian hosts Lexington Bluegrass Baptist at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

MEADE COUNTY 3, CLOVERPORT FREDERICK FRAIZE 0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-7). The homestanding Lady Waves (3-1, 2-0 11th District) won their second straight.
