PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Panthers down Meade (09/04)

Rebecca Hepner gave the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers a big boost to start the fourth set Tuesday night against the homestanding Meade County Lady Waves.

A junior libero, Hepner gave the Lady Panthers a 9-0 cushion and they held on to win the set and the match, 25-16, 20-25, 25-22, 25-14 over their former district rivals.

Hepner was 22-of-24 with seven aces, two kills and 18 digs for the Lady Panthers (6-3), while senior setter Megan Meek was 26-of-27 with 29 assists, three aces, three digs, two kills and one block.

Junior middle blocker Hannah Wurth chipped in with 10 kills and 10 blocks, while senior middle hitter Shelby Priddy had six kills and two blocks. Senior Lacey Boone added four kills and four blocks.

Meade County (7-4) saw its three-match winning streak snapped.

Senior outside hitter Carissa Schwartz led the Lady Waves with 10 kills, seven aces, nine digs and one block, while senior middle hitter Autumn Bruner had 10 kills, two blocks and one ace.

Senior setter Olivia Kasey added 20 assists, four digs, one kill and one ace.

UP NEXT: Elizabethtown plays at Thomas Nelson at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Meade County hosts Hancock County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

NORTH HARDIN 3, BULLITT CENTRAL O (25-8, 25-23, 25-11). Junior outside hitter Cassie Ferguson had nine aces and six kills as the homestanding Lady Trojans (6-6) rolled past Bullitt Central (3-3).

Senior middle hitter Tashara Jackson chipped in with 11 kills, while junior setter Amanda Patterson and sophomore setter Hailey Shelman each had 15 assists.
