By Gina Clear

Radcliff City Council members, many of whom are considering campaigning for the city’s top elected position, authorized a pay increase Tuesday of nearly 31 percent for the city’s next mayor.

Councilman Don Yates introduced a motion to raise the mayor’s salary by $13,000 — from $42,000 to $55,000.

Yates made mention of prior conversations council members have shared as reason for bringing up the motion, but also said the raise made sense for the city.
