No drivers fled the scene Saturday night after an Elizabethtown woman was hit by multiple cars while bicycling on South Dixie Boulevard in Radcliff, police said.

Beverly E. Jeter, 25, was struck by multiple vehicles shortly after 9 p.m. while riding a bicycle about 25 yards south of Radcliff Elementary School on Dixie Boulevard, said Bryce Shumate, spokesman for Radcliff Police Department.

According to Shumate, the drivers stopped and are cooperating with the police investigation.

Hardin County Coroner Dr. Bill Lee said an autopsy was performed Sunday in Louisville. Preliminary results indicate Jeter’s death was the result of multiple injuries, including a fractured skull, he said.

A complete autopsy report is pending toxicology results, Lee said, which typically takes four to six weeks.

According to police, Jeter entered the southbound lane on the bicycle. Shumate said the incident remains under investigation.

Asked whether the bicyclist was wearing reflective clothing, he cited the ongoing investigation and said it was too premature for police to comment.

There is no streetlight in that area of South Dixie Boulevard, Shumate said.
