Radcliff residents interested in getting healthy in 2011 can jumpstart the year at a weekend event.
The city of Radcliff and Cardinal Health are hosting the third annual Health and Wellness Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Community Center. The event offers about 30 booths that include a variety of health and fitness information and services available in Radcliff.
The free event will offer screenings for body fat analysis, pressure points, vision and infant eyesight.
Attendees also can speak with Medicare Supplement and Drug Plan consultants and receive child I.D. kits from the Radcliff Police Department. They can sign up for Radcliff youth sports, radio station WQXE’s Pounds for Pounds weight-loss contest, and Buddy Ball with Joshua’s Friends, an organization for children with disabilities and their families.
The American Red Cross also is hosting a blood drive through the entirety of the event as well.
Radcliff Recreation Manager Lori Jury said the event gives new residents a chance to see what’s available in the area in one place. The event is geared for all ages.
“There’s something for the whole family,” Jury said.
This year attendees can sign up to win a Nintendo Wii and a Wii Fit from SNAP Fitness.
