A Radcliff man is charged with hitchhiking and felony assault following an alleged struggle with a Kentucky State Police trooper Sunday afternoon on the Blue Grass Parkway.
Bryce A. Stateman, 32, was riding a bicycle at 3:10 p.m. on the parkway when a trooper stopped him near the 4-mile marker, according to a citation.
When the trooper asked for identification, Stateman allegedly replied, “Not for you,” police said. Stateman then allegedly struck the trooper’s left forearm when told to turn around and place his hands behind his back, according to the citation.
After being placed under arrest, Stateman allegedly made threats toward the trooper and made statements that he would not be cooperative at the Hardin County Detention Center, police said.
“(Stateman asked) where I lived (and) that he would come see me,” the citation reads. “(He) made statements that if he got my gun, he would show me that this was not done.”
Stateman is charged with third-degree assault, hitchhiking on limited access facilities, resisting arrest and menacing. He is lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond.
