A Radcliff man was arrested Sunday evening on assault and custodial intervention charges after he took his 6-month-old child from the mother’s home at 251 Shelby Ave., Radcliff spokesman Bryce Shumate said.
Sherrod R. Moore is charged with fourth-degree assault fourth-degree, custodial interference and violation of a domestic violence order, Shumate said.
RPD have not released the mother’s name, but Shumate said she had an active domestic violence order filed against Moore. The two had reportedly been involved in a physical dispute when Moore took the child, Shumate said.
RPD located Moore at his mother’s house near Elizabethtown, Shumate said. The child was unharmed.
An Amber Alert was not issued for the child, Shumate said, because police located Moore before they could log the necessary information to send the alert.
“We don’t know what his plans were for the child,” Shumate said.
Moore was lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center.
“The case is under investigation,” Shumate said. “More charges are pending.”
