A Radcliff man has been arrested on charges of sodomy and sexual abuse of a minor.

Paul H. Hales, 54, of 624 Cottonwood Drive, was arrested by Radcliff police at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday and charged with first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy.

In both charges, the victim is listed as being younger than 12 years old, said Radcliff Police Department spokesman Bryce Shumate.

Hales, a civilian contractor who works at Fort Knox, reportedly told police that he began performing sexual acts upon the victim in September and October of 2010 and continued them until June 19.

Hales stated that the acts took place in his home, while he was driving and in parking lots, Shumate said.

The case is still under investigation, Shumate said.

Hales was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center, where he remained Sunday with a cash bond set at $100,000.
